Description

What the shareware edition is

The HFT Arbitrage Platform Free (shareware) edition is a fully functional evaluation build of the platform, sold for a symbolic $19 to cover licensing and access infrastructure costs. It lets you install, configure, and backtest live arbitrage strategies on a real trading account before deciding whether to move to a paid license.

Unlike a time-limited demo, the shareware edition has no expiration date — it runs as long as your broker and VPS support it, subject to the limitations described below.

What’s included

The shareware edition includes working implementations of the core arbitrage strategies so you can evaluate the engine, the UI, the configuration workflow, and execution behavior end-to-end:

  • One-leg latency arbitrage — single-broker directional execution
  • Hedge arbitrage — cross-broker locked positions
  • 2-legs latency 1 — simultaneous two-broker entry
  • 2-legs latency 2 — cross-broker with asymmetric thresholds
  • 2-legs latency 3 — delayed-entry 2-legs variant
  • Reference feed integration (New York and London datacenters)
  • Live execution engine, risk dashboard, trade log export

Shareware limitations (read before downloading)

The shareware edition is intentionally capped so traders can evaluate mechanics without using it for commercial profit:

  • Trading instrument: EURUSD only
  • Trading lot size: fixed at 0.01
  • Reference feed: New York (NY4) and London (LD4) only, with a 5 ms artificial delay
  • Tokyo feed (TY3): not available
  • Other instruments (gold, indices, crypto, exotic FX): not available
  • Triangular arbitrage, 3-legs latency, advanced order randomization: not included — available only in paid editions
  • Broker recommendations: we do not recommend specific arbitrage-friendly brokers for shareware users (reserved for paid-license clients)
  • License continuity: We reserve the right to disable a shareware license after 30 days without prior notice if the product is misused (e.g. resold, modified, or used commercially beyond evaluation)

These limits mean the shareware edition is not suitable for commercial arbitrage income — it is an evaluation tool. For profitable trading on other instruments, larger lot sizes, and the full feed library, a paid edition is required.

Who the shareware edition is for

  • Traders who want to test the configuration UI, logging, backtest, and execution flow before paying
  • Developers evaluating compatibility with their broker, VPS, or datacenter location
  • Students and educators studying arbitrage mechanics hands-on
  • Prospective buyers who want to validate latency and slippage against their own broker before committing to a full license

Who the shareware edition is NOT for

  • Traders expecting commercial-grade profit — lot cap and feed delay make this economically unviable
  • Prop firm account holders — shareware limits do not match prop firm lot and instrument requirements
  • Gold, index, or cryptocurrency arbitrage traders — only EURUSD is supported
  • Users who need priority support, broker recommendations, or custom setup help

Why shareware is $19 and not $0

The symbolic $19 fee covers license-server costs, download infrastructure, and basic fraud prevention. It also deters automated mass-download abuse, which previously affected free-distribution versions. $19 is non-refundable but fully credited toward any paid edition if you upgrade — effectively making the evaluation free for buyers.

Support policy for shareware users

  • Installation documentation and setup videos — included
  • Access to the general knowledge base and configuration guide — included
  • Personal setup assistance, broker recommendations, troubleshooting — paid-license only
  • Software updates within the shareware build — included

Clients who purchase a full edition receive lifetime installation support, broker recommendations, configuration help, and priority response.

How to upgrade to a paid edition

When you’re ready to remove the shareware limitations, you have three upgrade paths:

Your shareware configurations, broker profiles, and backtest results carry over automatically. The $19 shareware fee is credited toward any paid edition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this edition really free?

Effectively yes, for anyone who upgrades. The shareware carries a symbolic $19 fee to cover licensing infrastructure and deter automated abuse, but the full amount is credited toward any paid edition if you upgrade. If you only use the shareware for evaluation, the $19 is non-refundable.

Can I make real profit with the shareware?

Technically, the shareware executes real orders, but the 0.01 lot cap, EURUSD-only restriction, and 10 ms feed delay make commercial profitability impractical. The shareware is an evaluation tool for testing mechanics, latency, and broker behavior — not a commercial trading product.

Is there a time limit on the shareware?

There is no automatic expiration date. However, we reserve the right to disable a shareware license after 30 days if the product is misused (resold, reverse-engineered, or used commercially). Normal evaluation use is not restricted.

Which strategies are included in the shareware?

The shareware edition includes one-leg latency, hedge, and all three 2-legs latency variants (1, 2, 3). Triangular arbitrage, 3-legs latency, and advanced order-randomization modules are reserved for paid editions.

Do you recommend brokers for the shareware?

No. Broker recommendations and personal setup assistance are reserved for clients who purchase a full edition. The shareware documentation includes general guidance on what to look for in an arbitrage-friendly broker (execution quality, no requotes, permissive trading rules), and you’re free to test against any MT4 or MT5 broker.

Can I use the shareware on a prop firm account?

No. Prop firm accounts typically require trading on multiple instruments with lot sizes larger than 0.01, which the shareware does not support. For prop firm compatibility, see the Prop Firm Arbitrage page and consider the All Arbitrage bundle or Custom Configuration with hedge and 2-legs latency 3 modules.

Does my shareware $19 count toward a paid license?

Yes. If you upgrade to any paid edition — One Leg, Custom Configuration, or All Arbitrage bundle — the full $19 is credited toward the purchase price. Your shareware configurations, broker profiles, and logs carry over automatically.
